Singapore’s IHH Healthcare has rolled out a new preventive health programme called Healthspan, aimed at extending the years people live without chronic illness.

AgeQ test anchors the offering

The flagship component, known as AgeQ, evaluates seven blood biomarkers to generate a biological‑age estimate that is compared with a person’s chronological age. The test draws on a reference pool of more than 300,000 individuals, providing a statistical benchmark for each result.

According to the programme details, the assessment is part of a broader four‑step framework labeled LIFT—Learn, Interpret, Finetune, and Track. Participants may select from five screening tiers—AgeQ, Vitals, Foundations, Explorer, and Pioneer—each delivering varying depths of diagnostic insight and clinical follow‑up.

Beyond the initial blood draw, Healthspan promises six core capabilities: baseline health profiling, risk identification, personalised care pathways, team specialist coordination, tailored lifestyle optimisation, and ongoing monitoring with real‑time intervention adjustments.

Integration with IHH’s network

Healthspan links patients to IHH Singapore’s existing infrastructure, which includes four private hospitals, more than 50 clinics, and over 1,500 specialists. The programme also taps resources from the Mount Elizabeth Novena Centre for Genomic Health, operating under the Gleneagles, Mount Elizabeth and Parkway brands.

Peter Chow, chief executive of IHH Healthcare Singapore, said the initiative moves care “upstream from reactive treatment to proactive, predictive and personalised health management.” He added that the goal is to lengthen not only lifespan but also healthspan, defined as the period of life free from illness and disability.

The tiered structure allows individuals to begin with basic vital checks or jump straight into the most extensive Pioneer level, which includes extensive diagnostics and specialist referrals.

While the ambition is clear, its success will depend on how well the predictive models translate into tangible health outcomes for users. The reliance on a large reference database suggests a data‑driven approach, yet real‑world applicability can vary across ethnic groups and lifestyle factors.
